The Galilee Chapel Project
St Illtud’s Church has successfully applied to the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) to support the project to develop the Galilee Chapel. HLF passed the project for Stage 1 of their process in 2010 and for Stage 2 in 2011, which means that they have undertaken to provide grant aid towards the cost of development work.
The aim of the Project is to bring the roofless Galilee Chapel back into use as a centre for education in Celtic Christian studies, and provide an appropriate exhibition space for the Celtic Christian stones. An archive room, toilets and a tea station will also be provided to facilitate and support an increased community use of the church.
